Look Who's Walking!

Lots of new and fun opportunities to get out and walk or learn a new fitness hobby with others.  Complete 7 of the 11 fitness events and be entered in a drawing for prizes.

Nature Mini-camps
No Child Left Inside

A new and exciting MetroParks 2008 summer program - Nature Mini-camps!  Campers will experience and explore the great outdoors in a variety of MetroParks.

As part of the MetroParks 40th Anniversary Celebration, Nature Mini-camps will be offered at different parks within the MetroParks system.  In addition, Erie MetroParks and the Sandusky Recreation Department are partnering to offer the first-ever nature camp at the Sandusky Greenhouse.  What an exciting, fun way for you to help your MetroParks celebrate 40 years for You!

Project Learning Tree Teacher Workshop

June 19-20
PLT uses the forest as a “window” on the world to increase students’ understanding of our environment; stimulate students’ critical and creative thinking; develop students’ ability to make informed decisions on environmental issues; and instill in students the commitment to take responsible action of the environment.

YOGA IN MCBRIDE ARBORETUM

Thu, Jun 5, 12, 19, 26, 7-8 pm, Deering Terrace, McBride Arboretum—Improve your mind, body, and spirit’s connection through yoga poses, breathing and concentration during this four-session class led by Deb Sutter, M.S. Ed/Ace Certified. Improve your strength, balance, flexibility, and your ability to relax.

Yoga at the Arboretum will offer traditional yoga postures, (asanas), along with some flowing postures, (Vinyasas). You fit the poses to where you are in your life at the moment, so people with any level of fitness will benefit from the class. 

If you are thinking “I am too stiff to do yoga,” you should probably do yoga! Leave your ego at home. Come, forget your troubles for an hour, do something good for yourself, relax, have fun and breatheeeeee.

Bring a mat and blanket or pillow for sitting poses$24 pre-registration due June 2, check or Mastercard/Visa to Erie MetroParks.  If raining, class will meet in McBride Arboretum Visitor’s Center.  McBride Arboretum in located behind BGSU Firelands, Huron Township.
